Shiatsu Massage is a therapy technique practiced with soft and strong pressures on the reflex points of the body. Your therapist mainly exerts pressure with their thumbs and fingers—hence its name shiatsu, which means “finger pressure” in Japanese—but also with their palms, elbows and sometimes feet. Shiatsu targets specific points along the body’s meridians, applying pressure to release tension and restore balance. This targeted approach can effectively address deep-seated muscle knots and chronic stress. Shiatsu’s stretching and joint rotations also contribute to muscle relaxation and increased flexibility.
